Before we get to Christmas I wanted to post about our amazing trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for Thanksgiving. Thanks to the amazing people Ari works with at Precision Concrete Cutting the whole crew spent an entire week in paradise. We stayed at an incredible resort and had a great time playing in the sand and surf, hanging out in cabanas at the beach, lounging by the pool, deep sea fishing, crab hunting and so much more.

Up 'Til Now...

I'll spare the lame excuses about not updating our blog for several months and go right to the pictures.

Mo is still in love with being a cowboy and was in heaven in our back yard all summer long where he could ride his horse and play on his parkslide.

Probably the highlight for us as parents was all the fun moments Mo and Livi shared together. The dynamic between these two is hilarious.

Weddings are of course a part of summer and we had a great time up at the Salt Lake Temple for a cousin's sealing where we even ran into Jimmer Fredette! Needless to say it may have been the greatest thing that has happened to Mo. All day long he kept talking about getting his picture taken with "the real Jimmer".

Livi's favorite spot this summer was her swing. She could have spent hour after hour there yelling out "Weeeeee" in her dainty little voice-all she needed was a push.

No summer would be complete without plenty of golf. This kid is getting good! Not sure who enjoys it more, me or Mo. Either way we have a great time when we go and Mo for sure keeps it interesting. He loves voluntarily hitting out of the bunkers so he can watch the big splash of sand come up off his club.

The 4th of July is a great time of year to keep family traditions alive and enjoy all the cool things to do in the valley. Hot air balloons, the Grand Parade, Gimi's outfits, a family picnic and fireworks rounded out this year's festivities.

To further perpetuate Mo's love for any and all things "Western" we got hooked up with tickets to the Sheepdog Trials up at Soldier Hollow. Wyatt's father-in-law helps organize it and actually provides the sheep. We found an awesome hat for Mo at one of the vendor booths and from there on he was in full cowboy mode. Livi got in on the action with Aly putting a cute feather in her hair. It was beyond amazing to watch these dogs and their handlers work the sheep. Almost made us want to get a dog ourselves.

Mo started up another year of "Gimi-school" with two of his cousins. Not very many kids have a grandma with 30+ years in education to hold a special little pre-school for them. Lucky for him it's just a scooter ride away.

With summer winding down we took a little camping trip up Provo Canyon. I was worried we might be taking a mid-night trip back home if Mo wasn't quite down with sleeping in the tent but he was a champ and lasted the whole time-with a little help from movies on the iPad!

JC and Beth had their little girl Maggie during the summer so in October the whole Davis clan hopped in a rented out 14 passenger van and made the long trek to California for her blessing. Thankfully Mo and Livi slept plenty on the ride there and back or else I don't know if we would have survived! Mo loved getting to see and play with Tucker for the couple of days we were there and it is always great to get the family together for things like that.

Halloween was another opportunity for Mo to show how funny and unique he can be. This year he wanted to be Ammon from the Book of Mormon, complete with a bag of severed Lamanite arms. We had to get Livi in the mix so she was one of the King's sheep he was protecting. If there is one thing to be said about Mo and all the characters he pretends to be, it's that he insists on things being as 'true to life' as possible so this costume was no exception.

Here's the run down of what we did in May...

NICU "Reunion"

Livi was one of the honored guests at the hospital's NICU Reunion where all the kids that have gone through their doors over the years are invited to a huge carnival and picnic in the park. Just another way we recognize how blessed we are to have or little Miss and to see how far she has come since those first days. We were able to see a few of our favorite nurses and all of them remembered Livi. They were all thrilled to see that she has continued to do so well.

Park Slide!

For the longest time Mo has wanted what he calls a "Park Slide" and each time we drive by the Lifetime store on State Street he would notice them out on display. Since we bought our house we have had the back corner of our yard empty and pretty much just a place for weeds to grow. We finally decided we needed something back there and Mo was more than excited his Park Slide filled the void.

3 trailer loads of dirt removed, 12 railroads ties, 1 broken sprinkler, 2 cubic yards of bark, numerous trips to Home Depot, one set of wrong instructions, several helping hands and an undisclosed number or swear words later we had the happiest kids on the block! It will for sure be a great place for them to play for years to come so it was worth all the trouble.

Hogle Zoo

This past year Mo and his cousins have gone to pre-school at his Gimi's house and for their last field trip we all went to the Zoo for "Z day" to finish up learning the alphabet.

Triathlon

One of the more exciting things in April was when Jason competed in his first triathlon of the season, the "Telos Timp Triathlon" - a 5K run, 10 mile bike and 350 meter swim. It was so much fun to watch him compete and cheer him on.

Done!

It was the same race as back in November and he was thrilled to knock 5 minutes off that first time and was even fast enough to take 3rd in his age division and 23rd overall!

Easter

Baskets from the Easter Bunny, family picture, cute Livi in her Easter dress and an Easter egg hunt with the cousins-you know, the usuall.

Golf

Scroll through the the entire history of our blog and a couple of main themes may stick out, one of them being Mo and golf. Seriously the kid loves it! He will go in our back yard and for an hour or more just hit plastic balls back and forth to his hearts content.

These are from Jason and Mo's first trip of the year to Cascade. He got his very own set of clubs and played the entire 9 holes!

Getting Bigger

Hard to think our Miss Livi is almost 1! She is such a character and brings so much joy to our little home. As of now she's has her two bottom teeth in, has got crawling down pat and is working on pulling herself up on things and if she's brave enough lettig go to see uf she can stand-not bad for 6 weeks premature. She loves music and will start dancing and jumping anytime she hears it.

She and Mo have the cutest little dynamic. He can always make her laugh and loves to read her books. The funniest part is how she treats him. Whether it's smacking his face, pulling his ears or grabbing a hand full of cheek (as you can see) he just laughs and plays along.

The Rest of February and March

First off, I mean c'mon-how cute is this little girl? Mo took advantage of Mother Nature's indecision on what season it should be to make one last snowman. Jason's little brother Derek finished off his season playing on the 8th grade basketball team. He said it was nice to see a LeChem suit up in a Bruin uniform again. Mo loved going to the games and hopefully it won't be the last time we cheer for Derek out on the court.

Livi is getting bigger by the day. Looking at her you would never think she was a 5 week premature baby. Happy and healthy as can be. She hit 9 months old in March! Crazy to think how much she has grown since that days of the NICU.

Finally got enough hair to pull together her first pony tail-if you can call it that!

Gotta read up on her namesake and how manipulate her parents for a later bed time or tease her brother.

We are really anxious to get Mo involved in sports because he loves all of them so much. Karate is about the only one a 3 year old can do this time of year so we signed him up for a couple classes. It was pretty funny to watch him go through some of the exercises.

The highlight of it all was when Mo had to break a board in order to earn his white belt. The excitement on his face when he did it was priceless. It's all he could talk about the next couple of days.

With these two kiddos it's never a dull moment around here but we are loving life and all it has to offer us!

Mo's 3rd Birthday Party...brought to you by the color YELLOW!!

If there is one thing about our Mo it's that the guy sure knows what he likes.

Among many include:
Favorite color-yellow. Favorite animal-horse. Favorite treat-donuts with sprinkles. Favorite sport-basketball. Favorite BYU basketball player-Jimmer Fredette. Favorite pro player-Michael Jordan. Favorite movie-Space Jam.

So while we couldn't quite pull off having Jimmer and Michael Jordan ride up on yellow horses, holding plates full of donuts while "I Believe I Can Fly" played in the background we did the best we could by having an all yellow themed party with a few of those favorite things! Take a look at all the fun we had.

3 yellow pancakes for the birthday boy's breakfast. He was so proud of the fact he could hold up three fingers he would throw them up at any excuse he got.

No excuse is really valid for how bad we have been at updating the blog, so for all those friends and family that live far away, here is a catch up post of our December and January.

Christmas

Opening books and jammies at Grampy and Grammy's house.

Mo got hooked up with "A Costco Horse" as he yelled out when rounding the living room corner and was in heaven all day long with that and all his other gifts. Livi, like most babies was content with just the wrapping paper, but she also got some fun stuff.

Christmas morning with the Davis side of the family complete with a Nativity scene, Team Davis sweatshirts and jumping in the Pit full of wrapping paper.

New Year's

The long standing tradition in the family is a huge New Year's bash complete with tons of games for the kids and adults. The highlight is always winning and having Grampy dish out the dollar bills. Mo didn't go away empty handed-thanks in part to some help from his Dad!!

Party pooper. Not more than 10 minutes after midnight Mo was out like a light!

Another tradition for New Year's Day is french fries and soda for breakfast. What a great way to kick start that New Year's resolution to eat better, right? The boys also made their way up the canyon for a shooting expedition that is always an enjoyable time.

Livi's Blessing

Olivia Jane LeCheminant was named and blessed by her Dad on October 31st. What an amazing event for the whole family. It worked out great that Peter's mission welcome home was the same day so it was a double whammy!

Here is Livi with her dress-the same one her Gimi made and Momma wore when she was blessed. Vintage is totally in now right?

The whole gang together after the service. Included in the circle were: Grandpa Chem, Papa Chem, Uncle Nic, Uncle Peter, Uncle Jeff, Jason, Grandpa Bill, Grampy Mo, Uncle Alma, Uncle Wyatt, Pa and Uncle JC-not to forget Uncle Derek holding the microphone as well!

We are so blessed to have amazing family who travelled near and far to support Livi on her special day.

Some Pictures of the Kiddos

Where does the time go? Seriously Livi is 5 months old now and it has been nothing short of incredible the growth and development we have seen in our little girl. We can barely remember those long days in the NICU or when we finally brought her home and she still had to stay hooked to an oxygen tank and the heart/lung monitors.

Now she is happy, healthy and even a bit chubby!

The picture below is proof she has come a long way. The before ones were both within the first few days she was born. The first compared to a cell phone and the second a little "Olivia the Pig" doll. Hard to believe she was that tiny!

She is seriously such a good baby and her smile, blue eyes and spirit brighten our home more than we could have ever known!

Oh our little Mo Toad! This kid has us laughing constantly while also keeping us on our toes. He still maintains his obsession with horses and was thrilled to go see the movie Secretariat a few months back. He loves Gimi school with is cousins, reading books(he can pretty much quote word for word Ferdinand the Fierce and Very Hungry Caterpillar) and has developed a pretty wild imagination of his own.

Each week when Sacrament Meeting is over he goes crazy with excitement to go to nursery and has a whole volume of Primary songs he loves to sing. He is a great big brother and helper with Livi-always greeting her with "Hey there pretty girl" and looking for just about any reason to give her hugs and kisses.

Turkey Triathlon

On November 6th Jason competed in his very first triathlon at the Rec Center in Orem. Over the past few months the both of us have done lot and worked hard to get back in better shape and this was a perfect excuse for him to put that all to good use.

The race consisted of a 5K run followed by a 10 mile bike ride then finished off with a 350M swim. He did a great job and finished in 1 hr 8 min-good enough for 15th in his age division and 88th overall. Not bad for a rookie! Alongside his parents we were there to cheer him on in each stage.

He says it was a lot of fun and plans on training and doing many more in the future!

Catch Up Post...August to October #1

So, no secret our blog is way over due for a post or two-or ten! Anyway rest assured we have kept busy these past few months and now have the pictures to show for it all. Buckle up.

Fishing

Jason took Mo fishing to a little pond behind Lone Peak High School. Mo got his very own fishing pole and this is a picture of the monster he actually caught with it. Sadly that was about the extent of their haul and there were no tall fish stories to tell with these two. After a while Mo was more interested in messing with the can of worms they bought for bait. Oh well, Jason said he loved it and that they will totally go again!

Golf

Surprise, surprise that once again we have some pictures of Mo golfing. What can we say- it's in his name and in his blood. We took him over to Cascade for a round of mini-golf then a bucket at the range. The kid seriously loves to play! Whether he hits one long and straight or duffs a shot two feet forward he gets a kick out it. We (mostly Jason) get just as much of a thrill watching him have so much fun. Who knows where this love affair will lead him? His form is so good now Jason is dreading the day Mo beats him-it will probably happen sooner than later!

Gimi School

What does a retired teacher with over 30 years experience do in her spare time-well besides being an active cyclist, having her own blanket sewing business (Skins by Gimi), tend an immaculate garden and complete several home improvement projects? Start a pre-school for her grandkids!

Mo and his two cousins, Tucker and Loren, are part of their own little class called 'Gimi School' and they LOVE IT! Each week the excitement builds when we tell Mo the books they will read, activities they will do and treats they will make and eat. Every Friday morning he wakes up and yells "It's Gimi School today!" We are so blessed to have such an amazing Mom and Gimi who loves these kids more than they will ever know. Mo has already learned so much and is always either singing songs or telling us about the things they talked about that week.

Shooting

For the past several months our garage has slowly built up a pile of what I considered junk but that Jason determined was worth while to keep so we could shoot at our next outing. Finally the day came where I could become rid of the mess and we headed to the west side of Utah Lake. It's always a good time where both the boys and girls of the family can share in the fun...and destruction.

Escalante

The whole Davis clan headed down to Southern Utah the middle of October for a weekend trip to Escalante. Friday we hiked to Upper Calf Creek Falls and Saturday played around a little spot called Devil's Garden. It was amazing weather and a fun time for all. For sure a tradition we want to keep year after year now.

The place we stayed Friday night, Slot Canyon Inn (highly recommend to anybody), had some cattle grazing on the property and Mo loved how close he could get to them-but not too close! We heard about a dozen recitations of 'Ferdinand the Bull' from him as well.

Happy Birthday Tucker

The first in the triple threat of grandkids to hit 3! Auntie Beth put together an incredible Halloween/Pumpkin themed party for Tucker's birthday. Complete with ghost sucker making, goblin dancing and silly pumpkin decorating. Nice work Beth-from the faces on these kids you can tell they all had a blast!

And no trip to JC and Beth's would be complete without Mo hurling himself from their staircase. But we managed to get a picture of all the Davis grandkids without Mo having a total meltdown so that was a bonus as well.

Halloween

There was no doubt what Mo was going to be this year for Halloween. A real, genuine, head to toe cowboy-complete with hat, vest, bandanna, six-shooters, belt buckle, chaps, lasso and boots.

And he wouldn't be without his trusty steed, Hidalgo! The poor thing as been through it all, but there isn't a toy in the house Mo loves more than that little horse.

To keep the the theme going we dressed Livi up as our little cow. So cute!!!

Mo took things a little bit too literally thinking he was in a rodeo and tried to calf rope Livi. Fortunately for us he doesn't quite have that skill down!

We took the kids over to Jason's parent's house that night so Mo could go trick or treating with his LeChem cousins. Mo was a Cowboy, Kaden went as Buzz Lightyear and Trey rocked the Michael Jackson costume-no joke-white sparkle glove and all! He even busted out the moonwalk for a few people. Hilarious!! It was lots fun to watch those three run from house to house and pick up all the goodies.

Welcome Home Elder LeCheminant

Jason's little brother Peter got home from the Phillippines Bacolod Mission the end of October. He had an amazing experience with lots of baptism and leadership success. He would always brag in his emails and pictures about all these exotic locations and things that 'his brothers never did' because they all served missions in the States. And what he lost in body weight while out there he gained in spiritual strength! Way to go Peter! Thanks for carrying on the LeChem missionary tradition and setting another great example for Mo.

Cowboy Mo-A Little Boy's Dream Come True!

For anybody who knows Mo it's no secret to you that he LOVES horses and would want nothing more in this world than to just be a cowboy. Some parents try to bribe or reward their kids with candy and toys. On Mo we use trips to see horses at any of the several pastures by our house...and it works!

Everyday he walks around with a cowboy hat and boots on, saying he's "Cowboy Mo" swinging a little piece of rope he calls his lasso. He'll run and jump over just about anything and say he's a horse in a Steeplechase race. We find him playing in the back yard with the dozens of small horse figures he has, putting them is different spots in our garden, lawn or sandbox. He loves to jump on his spring mounted horse and pretend to be Woody from Toy Story and yell out "Ride like the wind Bullseye!" or use his rocking horse to act out various scenes from his favorite movies, Hidalgo and Spirit. He cries when we eventually make him take off his boots for bed, begging us to let him sleep with them on. And he usually can't fall asleep without the horse pattern blanket his Gram gave him. Are you seeing a trend here?

So when our sweet neighbors, the Seale's, offered to take Mo to visit their pasture, we knew he would love it. Love was an understatement. It was honestly his dream come true!!

He learned there are several chores you have to do to take care of a horse and helped out with them, but the payoff was well worth the work. He was in a real pasture-riding a real horse-with a real saddle-using a real rope-feeding it real hay. In his mind he was nothing short of a real Cowboy! Heaven on earth for this kid.

All we have heard about since was all the fun he had with "Bruder and Sisder Seale" and his experience riding their horse, Banner. These pictures are proof positive he's a genuine cowboy at heart-although we have no idea where he gets it from.

July was a great month for our family. The biggest thing, as most know, was when we got to bring Livi home from the hospital-three weeks to the day after she was born. The NICU is a place of miracles and was where she needed to be during that time, but we were so excited to break the routine of that place and get her home. All the doctors and nurses there were fabulous and we felt blessed it was only a 3 week stay and Livi never showed any signs of problems. She just needed to grow a bit more and get stronger.

Along with Livi we also brought along some of the latest fashions in medical equipment. They had us keep her on oxygen and a heart/lung monitor. Each week after we were home Livi would go in for a weight check and kept getting bigger and bigger and soon enough we got the green light to take her off all that stuff. Freedom! Plus she is way too cute to have to wear those little cheek tabs and oxygen tube.

Looking back on the past 2 months we are nothing but grateful for how it has all turned out. We owe so much to so many, especially those who kept our little girl and our family in their thoughts and prayers. We are happy to report that Livi is doing incredibly well. While still teenie tiny, she is developing right on track-eating and sleeping like a champ. Such a strong and sweet little girl.

Mo is the best big brother. It has taken him a few weeks to get used to Livi and how gentle to be, but he couldn't love her more. His face lights up whenever he gets around her and we hear the sweetest things from him. "Livi you are a pretty girl, you are beautiful" or "Look at baby Sis-she is so cute. She loves you."

No secret she is ADORED by everybody she meets.

Here are a few pictures of her room. A nice fancy chandelier and fresh coat of paint on a dresser that was her Gimi's when she was a little girl.

Bringing Livi home threw a bit of a wrench in our plans for the 4th weekend, but Mo still had a blast at the parade.

Then later that night a fireworks show at Gimi and Pa's house with his cousins. Front row seating!!

Speaking of cousins, they have been having a blast together this summer doing tons of fun activities. Here are some pictures from the Thanksgiving Point farm. Mo would tell everybody in the following days that he rode "Black Beauty" and he was in a race with the other horses.

Another fun time was out at the Splash Pad in Highland. Sunshine+water+cousins= a good time for this group!

Mo also got some of his first exposure to roughing it outdoors. A quick hike up to Big Springs and a campout in the back yard. He loved both and we know for sure it wont be the last time we do those things with him.

Livi Update

Just wanted to give a quick update on our little Livi. We are going on almost 3 weeks in the NICU but she has done great the entire time. The biggest struggle with a baby as small and young as her is they can't quite get the suck-swallow-breath motions down together and eat enough on their own. Just this past week it has all come together though and she is on the fast track out of that place! She's up to 5lb 2oz and taking all her feedings without a tube!!

If all goes according to plan we should be able to bring her home Saturday morning! A few last feeding tests and then she will be all ours. Simultaneous "Yay" and "Yikes". Life as we think it would be has been on hold the past 3 weeks and we are anxious to have her home so we can get on with it. Things might even be less hectic then! We can only hope.

Ari is doing amazing. Makes everybody sick when they see how good she looks after just having a baby. Driving to and from the hospital dozens and dozens of times for feedings hasn't weakened her a bit. She has stayed so strong despite how much is being asked of her.

Mo continues to be enamored with his "Baby Sis" and is giddy each time we take him to see her. Just this past weekend they let him hold her for the first time and it was hilarious to watch how much he kissed her and would rub the top of her head saying that he was "petting her mane" -horse obsession reference there.

While it has been hard for all of us these past weeks we recognize how blessed we truly are. The support from everybody has been essential to us making it through each day. We have learned new levels of patience and love.

So that's the deal. Hopefully when Livi is home we can free her of a few of the tubes and wires she is hooked up to and get some better pictures. I always say she is too pretty to have the oxygen and feeding tubes taped to her face, but oh well its for her own good and for only a little while longer.

Hey-Jason here. I have been tasked with doing the family blog for May so bear with be as I fill you in on all things LeChem this past month.

We are still anxiously waiting for Olivia to join the crew and have been busy getting everything in her room ready to go, buying little girly clothes and trying as best we can to mentally prepare for another kid as well as physically prepare by enjoying our sleep while we can (like I'll have room to talk once she is here as Ari says). Speaking of Ari, she is feeling GREAT and has had a relatively easy pregnancy so far, I guess she is just hoping that continues on for the next month or so! Coming from a family of all boys it will for sure be a game changer for me to have a little girl in the mix! Wish me luck!

May started out with a Davis family trip to Coronado California. Ari's family has been going there since she was a little girl and so the tradition continues. We stayed at a great condo right on the beach and had fun doing tons and tons of different things.

A big bank of rocks just south of the Hotel Del Coronado provided a great place to explore and climb around on.

The Pool. From the pictures you can see they had a kids pool Mo loved and would cry whenever we had to get him out to leave. Living up to the nickname of "Toad" I guess.

Mo and Tucker-the dynamic duo! Feeding seagulls from the condo window, wrestling and pillow fighting, hangin' around or just looking like they were making trouble was all part of the fun for these two buds.

JC got me, Kent and Wyatt hooked on these cars called Mini-Z's. Just about every night the four of us would head to the tennis court and trade a little paint. I think "Z" stands for zippy because these things can go and brought out the kid in each of us! Too bad the lights would shut off before our batteries died out!

Among the other things was a ferry ride to a carousel where to Mo's delight he got to ride a "Sugar Horse" as he called it. Gimi and Pa took the kids on a bike ride along the shore so the moms and dads could have a date night. For the most part we just hung out as a family-nothing but good times the entire week!

We also made a trip up to Legoland and that was fun for Mo to hop on the little rides and see all the cool stuff there.

And what would a vacation be to me without a round or two of golf-a little somethin' ya know for the effort? Played one day at the Military course there on the island with JC and Wyatt. The next day I got on Coronado's city course just across the bay from the condo and it was an amazing layout and an amazing day.

A big chapter in Ari's life closed this month with the last class of pre-school kids. With baby #2 on the way we decided it was best to end it this year and go back to renting out the basement. I know I can speak for both "Teacher Ari" and "Teacher Cyd" that they had the extreme pleasure of working with some amazing kids and their parents for the past 3 years. Probably still hasnt hit Ari yet that The Kids Kompany is over with, but the memories and good times will last forever I'm sure.

The month closed out with a trip back to California with my family, but this time without Ari(traveling at 7 1/2 months pregnant isn't the best idea). My brother Jeff graduated from medical school specializing in podiatry. I'm sure proud of him and know he will be a great doctor. The ceremony took place at a cool old theater in downtown Oakland and we were glad to be there to show our support and love to Jeff and his little family.

After the graduation we made our way to San Francisco and had a great time at a few different places with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city where Mo could run around with Uncle Diesel and his two cousins Trey and Kaden.

The other part of our trip was to celebrate Grandma Chem's 80th birthday. Almost the entire LeChem clan was there and it was great to see everybody and to honor an amazing lady that has shown all of us so much love over the years.

These are some cool pictures in my grandparents back yard were Mo, as always, has a great time discovering things and running around. If there was one thing I learned on this trip its that single parents have a tough job. Trying to handle Mo without Ari was a tiresome task some of the time-even though he is typically a really good kid. Thanks to my parents for the trip and helping me out with the Toad as well!

With March winding down here is a little update on a few fun things we did this month!

George Squared
The first part of the month we headed down to St. George with our friends the Georges. We stayed in a lovely home with amazing views of the red rock and Snow Canyon. While the guys played golf it was nice to escape, relax and soak up some sun by going on walks even if it was only for a day or two. It just gave us something to look forward to now that warmer weather is around the corner. Thanks Tawny, Andrew and baby Jack for such a fun time.

Andrew found a R/C boat in the closet and that paired up with a stream running behind the house was a recipe for fun. Pretty sure Jason enjoyed it more than Mo though!

The highlight for Mo was just being able to run around outside without his coat, gloves, a hat or even shoes on! This house really was amazing and a perfect place for Mo to goof around-and as you can see he's pretty good at it.

Go Jazz!

On St. Patrick's Day we were lucky and got tickets to the Jazz game that night. We took a gamble and brought Mo with us and he LOVED it-well everything except the Jazz Bear spraying silly string on our whole row! Our tickets were great and we were close enough Mo really got into it and was able to watch the players and follow the game. He would yell out "Go Jazz" and "Slam Dunk" and was just mesmerized at the whole site of the arena with all the lights and people. On the drive home he kept saying "Mo have fun at the Jazz game" so we are glad we brought him along.

More Golf

All three of us went golfing one Saturday afternoon and had a blast. Jason would hit his shot then drive up and throw a ball out for Mo to hack away at for a bit until it was time to go to the next hole. Probably heaven for both of them! We cracked up that he kept his 'golfing hat' on the entire time. For a 2 year old he's working on a pretty good swing. Between his dad, uncles and grandpas he's got plenty of good form to follow after.

So now March is in the books and we are still counting down the days until our little girl comes to play. We are making the final preparations on her room and all the other little things that come along with a new baby. Lucky for us this pregnancy has been pretty smooth and we can only hope that continues for the remaining months. No doubt we will continue to keep you posted with what we do to occupy our time until then!

Think Pink!
So as previously noted the big news for us this month was to find out we are having a baby girl. It still hasn't quite sunk in for either of us that come July it's going to be all about PINK! Jason, having grown up in a house with all boys is especially thinking about what the change will be like! He will gladly welcome any tips!

We thought really hard about a few names and came to a decision with Olivia Jane LeCheminant. With a last name like ours a few we liked just didn't "roll off the tongue" but we really love Olivia. Jane is a shout out to Jason's mom, Jan, who will now be the proud Gram of two LeChem girls within the next few months!
Mo has really started to get on board with the idea of having a baby sister. He will gladly belt out her name for you and we know he is going to be a great brother. He will go to her room and point out everything as "Livi's bed" and "Livi's light" and "Livi's chair".

(Hopefully this one actually works. Sorry to anybody who couldn't see the last video.)

Happy To You Mo!
On the 4th we celebrated Mo's 2nd birthday. Leading up to that day he would walk around the house and sing "Happy to you, Happy to you" and it was a lot of fun to have all the families over for the occasion.

He currently has an obsession (that's an understatement) with horses so it was no surprise most his presents were related to that. The hit of the party was an old spring mounted horse that Mo's uncle Nic found for him. He wasn't sure of it at first but by then end of the night he was riding it like a pro.

Golf...Finally

The last Saturday of the month was just warm enough for the boys to hit the range after a long winter. Check out this guy's form! Probably not the last hours these two will spend with each other on the range.

That's right, a baby SISTER!!! She is due July 17th and we are beyond "excited" for this little Miss to join our family. So far the pregnancy has been great, with no real problems (knock on wood). Stay tuned for more updates!

Another month has gone by and it seems like they just keep going faster and faster! Lets hope the next 5-6 go by just as fast! We had such a fun month in January with several things to do and celebrate. Here are the highlights!

Happy New Year!!

This year we went out to Kenzie and Alma's house for food and fun. To our surprise all the little kids fell asleep just fine so we adults could have a good time playing games. We got so caught up in everything we forgot about the "countdown" and turned the TV back on just in time to catch it. It was an enjoyable night and a great way to start off 2010. Thanks Kenz for being such a great hostess!

Jason's 28th Birthday

What an old man! We celebrated with Root Beer Floats at the LeChem's and Mo did his part to assist Jason in blowing out the candles as well as open presents. We also went to a Jazz game but forgot to take any pictures...oops!

Welcome Home Wyatt!!!

On the 5th we welcomed Wyatt back from his mission in Honduras. He had such an amazing experience down there and we are grateful for his example and faithfulness. At the airport was the first time he ever met Mo so we are glad to have him home so these two red heads can become best buds.

Jason's little brother Derek celebrated his 13th birthday this month. At his party he got a surprise visit from BYU's Andrew George! All Diesel's buddies were thrilled to get some football knowledge and and autographed picture from him.

More Sledding...Homemade Edition

After that big snowstorm over the weekend, Jason decided to build Mo is very own sledding hill--well make that a sledding mound. He piled all the snow from our driveway up on the lawn and carved out a path to slide down. It looked more like a mini luge run! Either way Mo loved it and it was just his size.

Well the LeChem family slacked off a bit in November with the blog, but we are back strong again here for December!

November

Maybe the reason why nothing was posted in November is that not much happened. Thanksgiving was great, but we dont have any pictures to prove it. We had lots of family around and it was great to reflect on all the things we have been blessed with this past year.

The great thing we did manage to get a picture of in November was the BYU vs. Utah football game. We got tickets at the last minute from our friends Tawny and Andrew and we were soo excited to go. We bundled Mo up and had a great time watching one of the best BYU games in history! Obviously the highlight was Andrew catching the winning touchdown pass in overtime. We stuck around long enough to get down on the field with him and it was for sure a great thing to be a part of. Hopefully we will be watching Andrew catch touchdown passes in the NFL in 2010!

December

We had so much fun this Christmas with Mo. Whenever you would ask him what he wanted for Christmas he would say "A Christmas Miracle!" It was hilarious to listen to but we couldnt figure out where he heard it for the longest time. Finally we discovered its from an Elmo movie he would watch at his Gram's house (this kid will repeat just about anything he hears!). Then if you asked him what he wanted from Santa he would say "A choo-choo and tracks". Well Santa came through for him and we loved seeing his reaction that morning when he walked out to his train set. No surprise he has spent several hours pushing the trains along and yelling out "Comin' down the track!"

Later Christmas day we went to Jason's parents house. His mom gave each of her grandkids a different band instrument and they made up their very own "Gram Band" Mo got the piano and loved playing it while singing into the microphone!

Mo's other favorite present was from his cousins Ashlen and LoLo. A cowboy hat and a set of toy cowboys and horses. As soon as he put the hat on he turned and said, "Momma, I a cowboy!" Its been pretty hard to pry that hat off his head since.

The next day all the LeChem's went bowling at BYU. Mo had a great time pushing the ball down the lane even though it took forever to make it to the pins! Overall it was a great holiday weekend!

October was a busy month for the LeChem's but we had a lot of fun! Here is what we were up to.

BYU Football Games

We started with a trip down to Las Vegas for the UNLV game. It was a lot of fun with the entire Davis family coming down as well. Mo loved to cheer the Cougars on.

Tolerating some obnoxious (and drunk) UNLV fans sitting right behind us. This was Mo's reaction.

But he was still cool enough to give them a high-five! Such good sportsmanship.

We also got tickets to the TCU game, but as you can tell by Mo's face it was tough to find anything to cheer about in this game.

Hogle Zoo

Mo's cousin Tucker turned 2 this month and celebrated by taking a trip to the zoo. Mo loves animals and really loved seeing them in person and making all the sounds he practices every single day.

Mo totally loves fire trucks and makes the sound of one whenever he hears, sees, reads about or even thinks about one. Orem's fire department had an open house with a few demonstrations and all the trucks out to look at. While he wasn't a big fan of the actual fire demonstration he still was in heaven surrounded by ladders, trucks and firemen gear. Here are a few pics from our outing.

July was a fun month for our family. The biggest event was of course the 4th of July and Mo enjoyed all the fun stuff we did that day!

The other big thing in July was taking a trip over the 24th weekend to visit Jason's family in Salmon Idaho. It was nice to get away from things for a bit and Salmon is for sure the place to do it. No joke, only 2 stop lights in the whole town! Mo did have a great time up there and Jason loved getting back to his "roots". A big thanks to Jason's grandparents as well as his aunt and uncle for letting us stay with them and have such a great time!

Mo's favorite part had to be riding on Grandpa's lawnmower. He and Jason must have done 10 laps around the yard on it. He didnt want to get off! Jason tried to convince me we needed a riding mower at our house, but we would for sure need a lot more grass to justify one, but seeing the look on Mo's face certainly made it tempting.

After mowing the grass it was only fitting Mo would test it out with his golf swing. He is always asking to "Dolf, Dolf!" (Hasnt quite got the "G" sound down)

In the back yard of Jason's grandparents they have an amazing pond and fountain with fish. We are just glad Mo didnt go for a swim with them. Many a grandkid has I was told! His favorite part was getting to throw them some food.

This was the craziest thing we saw in Salmon! It is a guy named "Dugout Dick" and he built all these caves to live in. It was incredible to see how he used what we would consider junk to build all that. Check out this article for more about the guy. Pretty incredible!

Finally Jason's cousin just bought a house and is raising chickens. Mo and their little girl had fun wathcing them run around, but that is something I'd never consider having at our house no matter how cute Mo was with them!

Zermatt, Goats & The Miracle of Life!

A few weeks ago we went up to the Zermatt Resort in Midway. After brunch we decided to walk around a bit and noticed a fenced off part with goats in it. Mo loves animals so he went straight for it. Just as we finished feeding them and were about to leave one of the goats started to yelp and scream out loud. We couldn't figure out what was happening until she turned around and we saw she was having a baby! Seriously! Right there before our eyes this momma goat gave birth to two babies. When one of the hotel employees came up to see we told him they should name one of them "Mo" so next time anybody is up there check and see if they did! It was an interesting day and again provided some great pictures of Mo.

If you are like us, you just cant get enough of this little man. He is just the most fun to watch as he plays and learns new things each day. These pictures are taken in the back yard of my grandparents. They have a hill on one side and Mo loved running down it along with his cousins. It was pretty funny to watch him try to stay balanced while going down. These pictures tell you how much he enjoyed it!

Over the weekend our family went to the other side of Utah Lake to do some shooting. My parents came along with my brother JC and his wife Beth. Jason owns a rifle and a few handguns and even bought me my own .22 pistol to shoot. Between all of us we had quite an arsenal of handguns, shotguns and rifles! We had a lot of fun blowing up 2 liter bottles of soda, clay pigeons, and a bunch of other junk we could find. With a former SWAT team member as a father-in-law and a Marine Captain as a brother-in-law, Jason held is own with them and its only natural the girls hit their fair share of stuff as well.

If there is one thing we know about Mo, its that he loves to play golf! He is such an observant little guy and between watching golf on TV and watching Jason, he's developed a pretty good little swing. Whenever we go outside Mo goes right for his clubs and ball. It would be an understatement to say that Jason is excited about Mo's interest in golf. No doubt countless rounds with eachother are ahead!

Jason's Dream Come True

So, I promised that I would blog at the end of every month and for once I am actually going to follow through with this blogging game. Anyway, November was pretty low-key for our little family. Both of my parents celebrated b.days, Thanksgiving, and there was also the BYU/UTAH game, but I don't have pics from those days yet - I need to go and steal them from my mom and sister. Anyway, in attempts to hold true to my blogging promise I am going to go ahead and post some pics of the one November event I did take pictures at...

On November 1st, we took Mo golfing! I don't know who had more fun Jason or Mo. They were so cute together. Mo was an old-school golfer for Halloween (see previous post), and Jason made him his own little set of wooden golf clubs that we took along. He loved every second of it! Jason loved it too, I could just see the excitement on his face as they were golfing knowing that this was the first of many father-son golfing outings.

I know that I am not the best blogger (this topic seems to be included in each one of my posts), but I have just decided that at the end of the day blogging is one of the last things I want to do. Per the request of some family and friends that live far away, I will do my best to give a monthly update of the bigger things that happened. Here goes for October, and hopefully I will keep my word and update the end of November - but don't expect anything before then :)

I know this was actually the end of September, but I had to include Women's Conference - IT WAS SO AMAZING THIS YEAR! We got tickets and went up to the conference center. Our husband's were great sports to watch all the littles so that we could go have a fun girls night!

THRILLER - Every year my family goes to the Thriller, put on by the Odyssey Dance Company. This year was the first year that they performed in Provo at the Covey Center for the Arts - usually we go up to Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake. it was funny this year because the fire alarm was set off by one of the dance props that smoked too much and so we had to evacuate the entire building and wait for the Provo City Fire Marshall to come and check things out. FUNNY, but we still had a great time.

Peter (Jason's little brother), went into the MTC this month. He was called to serve in the Philippines Bacolod Mission. We have already received a few letters and he sounds like he is doing really well. He will be in the MTC until December 23, and then he will head to the Philippines.

GO COUGARS! Our good friends Tawny and Andrew were nice enough to get us tickets to a BYU game this season. Andrew is on the team - #88, he plays tight end. He is a fabulous player and we enjoy watching him at the games or on TV. He even scored the first Touchdown of the game! It was so much fun to go - THANKS GUYS :)

Tucker (JC and Beth's little man) turned ONE! He is the oldest of the little threesome (Mo, Loren, and Tucker) and it is crazy to think that it has been a whole year since we were all pregnant together. Lolo and Mo will have their first b-day before we know it! We are so happy that T-Man is here and that he and Mo are good little friends already. We love you Tucker!

It's true, he really is adorable! Jason and I stayed up late the other night watching home videos since Mo has been born and I just found myself crying. He is getting so big, and his personality is showing so much. He is just the happiest little man ever. He is now 6 months (almost 7) old. My sister came over the other night and took these pictures... isn't she AMAZING??? Aren't I so lucky to have such a beautiful and talented sister? THANKS KENZ!!! Not only was it great to have Kenzie take the pics, but it was nice to hang out with her (and her husband was sweet enough to babysit her girls for us too). I couldn't just post the three so you will also find a few slideshows of my other favorites. We love our little man and are having so much fun! Also, about this blogging thing, no more promises I will get better because every time I promise I don't blog for months - maybe we'll get lucky one of these days and I will figure it out!

Mo was so good on this day... I'm sure everyone with babies can relate - but I was so nervous that he was going to be a little sad the whole day. So... today is Mo's 2 month B.day and I can't believe it! Time has flown by, it feels like we just brought him home!!! Everything is going so well, and we are having more and more fun everyday. These pics were taken a few weeks ago - but I thought they showed many sides of Mo! Happy 2 months Baby Mo - We LOVE you!

We got the rest of Mo's pictures back and these are two of my favorites! Jason took a lot of fun props that ended up working out really well! The smile on his face with the golf ball made Jason so excited, he knows that they will be good golfing buddies one day! Jason also had the idea for the basketball, I think that it turned out great too! I will post a slide show of the rest of the pics later for you all to see! :)

Baby Mo

A week ago we went and had some pictures taken of Mo and here is the first one I received! We should be getting the rest of them by the end of the week, and I will definitely post them ASAP. Michele Reyes was the photographer and she did an excellent job, I would recommend her to anyone (you can check out her website www.michelereyes.com). Anyway... there will be more pictures to follow this one soon, oh and isn't he PERFECT???

Well he came a day early but our Little Mo was born February 4th at 5:05 pm. He weighs 8 lb. 3 oz. and is 20 1/2 in. long. The delivery went well (15 hours total) and both Momma and Mo are doing great. It is impossible to put into words how great it is to finally have him here. From the pictures you can see he is pretty much the cutest baby to ever be born, and we just gush over him day and night. We are so greatful to be parents and are thrilled to be able to bring him home to our own little house. Even though he is only a few days old we feel like he's been with us all along. We want to thank everybody who has shown their love and support for us and would welcome anybody who wants to come by and check out Mo in person.

What's up everybody? It's Jason here, and I decided to throw up a post of my own in this tangled blogging web we weave. For most of you who know me, one of the things I love most in life (next to Ari and golf) is having sweet clothes, shoes and hats. So in anticipation of the arrival of our little Mo, I decided to get him started on the right track. While from the start he will already have a love for Ari like me and a love of golf will come eventually, from the pictures you will see he is hooked up to be just like his old man! It has been a lot of fun to find little miniature versions of things I have. First off is a pair of killer velcro Vans, followed by some kickin' Frye boots. Next is a classic Yankees hat, followed by my favorite True Religion jeans (you can spoil your kids a little can't you?). We just barely got him this sweet pair of Keen sandals and finished up with a fresh pair Adidas shell toes. In addition to this stuff, we also have a ton of Nike/Jordan hats and shoes as well as Ari having him hooked up from Gap for life! He will for sure be a stylin' dude. I am super stoked to be a dad and can't wait for Mo to come so we can roll in our gear together.

All we need is Baby Mo!!!

The nursery is finally complete... that's right, my handsome and handy husband finished! After one last babies r us run the other day... all the checklists are complete too. ALL WE NEED IS BABY MO! We are getting so excited and we can't believe how fast it has gone, hopefully these last few weeks continue to fly by too. We are so ready to meet our little man, and we can't wait to see what (who) he looks like! Anyway, I am really trying to get better at this blogging thing, and hopefully soon I will be able to fill it with pictures of Mo. We will keep you all posted over the next couple weeks with news of the big day!

pumpkin contest winner!!!

At the bank where Jason works they have a pumpkin decorating contest. The bank clients that come in get to vote on their favorite pumpkin. This year Jason decided to decorate his pumpkin to resemble a diet coke can (his favorite drink). He won the contest, and a customer even asked him if the pumpkin was for sale!!! How funny is that???

Last November we bought our house and it has been a work in progress ever since! We are so excited to finally be finished... it has been a long road, but we are thrilled with the finished product. Jason has done a lot of hard work and he lovingly calls me his 'task master.' Anyway, I thought I'd post a before and after pic so you all could see...

September 4 was a big day, not only did we find out that we are having a boy, but it was the first day of preschool! The Kids Kompany had it's first class and it went so well. My mom is helping me (she's the best resource anyone could ask for), and it is going great! The preschool is in the basement of our house, so it works out perfect to work at home.

On September 4, 2007 we found out that we are going to have a BOY!!! We had everyone over for a BBQ that night and announced the big news. Jason decided to get some blue and pink balloons and let the pink ones go so that everyone would know that we were having a boy! It was a fun night and we are so EXCITED for this liitle boy to come and join our family! We are going to name him after a grandpa from each side... his name will be Morris Owen, but he will be better known as Baby Mo.
